Classics Competition Team

No Audition Necessary

Designed for enthusiastic Classics dancers ages 5+ who are ready for an additional performance and competition experience.

If your dancer loves being in the studio, works hard in class, and is excited to take their training to the next level, Excel is a great next step.

Dancers are grouped by age and ability to create choreography for duets, trios, and groups. Groups may include dancers from different but comparable class levels.

To participate, dancers must:

  • Be enrolled in weekly classes at The Gold School

  • Maintain an excellent attendance record

  • Demonstrate commitment and a strong work ethic

  • Receive a teacher recommendation

Rehearsals typically begin in November or December and continue weekly through February, with the first competition usually taking place in March.

Rehearsals are in addition to regular weekly classes.

One Payment Covers It All

Excel tuition is all-inclusive and includes:

  • All rehearsals

  • One complete costume

  • Two competition entry fees

Project Moves Dance Company

Project Moves is more than a competition team. It is a performance company built around strong training, artistry, discipline, and the experience of working together as young artists.

The company performs in self-produced concerts, community events, and special performances, and participates in 2–4 regional competitions each year, with an optional national competition.

Dancers train with a diverse faculty in:

Ballet • Modern • Jazz • Contemporary • Tap • Musical Theater • Hip Hop • Conditioning • Pilates

But Project Moves is about more than technique.

Dancers are encouraged to take risks, respect their art, support one another, and develop confidence, maturity, and an individual artistic voice.

Whether or not dance becomes their career, the discipline, creativity, and work ethic developed through Project Moves can stay with them for life.
