A
long-lasting tradition at The Gold School is to offer one of the
most comprehensive intensive after school dance programs in the
country. Our intensive division is designed to inspire, motivate and
challenge the serious dancer with a specialized faculty of industry
professionals.
Students
are unique in their maturity; dancers demonstrate a respect for
their art, their teachers and each other.
By promoting excellence, passion and risk taking, this unique
program provides a solid foundation for any young person, whether
their future includes a career as a dance artist or not. Our
program is currently nourishing the souls of nearly one hundred
young artists from all over Massachusetts, Rhode Island and beyond.
Through
auditions and/or class evaluations, the faculty provides a personal
education agenda for each young artist selected for the MOVES
Program.
With
robust technical training, dancers will study ballet, modern, jazz,
tap, partnering, pointe, Pilates and hip hop. Students will also
participate in master classes and reparatory sessions with leading
guest artists.
"I
do not try to dance better than anyone else, I only try to dance
better than myself."
--Mikhail Baryshnikov

THE
NEXT STEP...Performance Training (optional) |

|
Having
a duel purpose, our intensive division offers aspiring dance artists an
incredible scope of dance, theatre and performance
training while providing audiences of all ages thought
provoking works guaranteed to MOVE the mind body and
soul. What
began as a successful competition team, this program has now
evolved into a true pre-professional company replacing the competition emphasis with
“dance as art”.
Raising
thousands of dollars for various charities, The Gold
School produces two nationally recognized benefit
concerts annually. With professional direction,
choreography, and lighting, these productions offer
young dance artists unparalleled performance training.
Dancers are afforded the opportunity to work with our
professional in-house and guest choreographers on
creative works in all genres of dance.
Because
the full time faculty determines casting for
the season’s choreography dancers are given the
opportunity to audition in each class taken.
Technically qualified, motivated, dependable, and most
importantly, dancers that are pleasant to work with,
always receive first consideration when casting.
"Performance Program"
rehearsals are in addition to technique class schedule. |
